Constantinople
From Wooo!pedia
It will not be clever to quote that They Might Be Giants song in this entry. I'm of course referring to "Particle Man"
it's not even a they might be giants song they just covered it very badly jeez
- I'm okay with not having known They Might Be Giants-related trivia
- Trivia???? More like "basic facts"
- "Very badly" gtfo I will fight you.
Also it's best to pretend They Might Be Giants didn't sing those two songs
- I will fight you as well.
Capital of Byzantium, the Eastern Roman Church? Something like that. I think it might have had an anti-pope? Not really sure. I read about it when I was young.
When a pope and an anti-pope collide, they annihilate and a gamma ray is given off in the sum direction with the sum momentum. Can photons even have momentum?
- yes oh my god of course they do this is basic stuff p = E/c = h * f/c = &c &c (p is momentum E is energy h is planck's constant f is frequency c is the speed of light or 'cetera')
- that's how solar wind works! ALSO it's super easy to show once you know E=mc^2 and everybody knows that (you also need the lorentz transformation for mass but that's pretty obvious)
- PS imo a pope-antipope interaction would most likely result in a higgs boson (the "god" particle) ZING that's one of mine but you can use it though, randy maccullen or whatever your name is xkcd guy.
- Clearly alpha and omega radiation are emitted, also.

i'm not ashamed of making this page nerdy because this page became way too nerdy when someone brought up They Might Be Giants so it's not my fault
Unwinder's impression of this page: Not a very good read. I do not feel as if it has improved my quality of life.
- It was alright but could have been so much more; it just fell short.
- I thought the alpha and omega thing was pretty good.
Colin Meloy's impression of Constantinople:
O the minarets of Constantinople Are plated gold, ivory, and opal Their cupolas all onion domed and light.
And the magistrate of Constantinople Has made a match; his family was hopeful Their daughter would be promised a wedding night.
But the Sultan's weary bride, she won't be wed tonight Nor fall beneath a canopy to lie For far across the town, her lover's lying drowned And painted by the Bosporus in blue And there's nothing for a broken heart to do.
Down the dirty streets of Constantinople The beggars weep, their hands all wide open Their severed leper limbs all swing and sway.
At a windowsill in Constantinople Our Hero sighs to melodies noteful And gazes on the walls that hold his love.
But the Sultan's weary bride, she won't be wed tonight Nor fall beneath a canopy to lie For far across the town, her lover now is drowned And painted by the Bosporus in blue And there's nothing for a broken heart to do. No, there's nothing for a broken heart to do. Except cry.
